Scotch Pearson-Zander

Scotch “Scotchy Bonehead” Pearson-Zander crossed the rainbow bridge Friday, August 18th, 2023, peacefully at home in the arms of his mom & dad.

Scotch was adopted on August 20th, 2004 at 6 months of age from Winnebago County Animal Services in Rockford, Illinois, by his mom, Tia Pearson, where he later met & was also adopted by his loving dad, Chad Zander. Yes, you read that correctly, this handsome boy lived 19.5 incredible years! He was an only child up until 3 years ago when Scotch’s parents adopted his sister, Bella, a Cane Corso Mastiff, the two instantly became best friends, an unbreakable bond that rejuvenated Scotch’s youth.

Scotch’s favorite activities included fetching tennis balls with his dad, going for walks, chasing chipmunks, belly rubs & napping. He never met a person or animal he didn’t like. Scotch loved everything & everyone (except hard flooring, he HATED walking on LVP or tile flooring, so much that he walked backwards on it). Scotch loved visiting his MeeMaw & PawPaw’s house in the country where they spoiled him with treats, riding around in the side by side, visiting the lake house with countless acres of luscious thick grass to pee & roll all over. He also enjoyed fishing, cannon balls in the water, nature & ultimately living his best life.

More than anything, Scotch loved his mom. He was a true mama’s boy who always greeted her with kisses & cuddles. Through all the ups & downs, heartaches, joys & sadness, Scotch was always right by his mom’s side to celebrate her success & happiness as well as lick the tears off her face in times of sorrow. His unconditional love is a true testament of “Man’s best friend.”

Scotch lived one heck of a life. In his 19.5 years on Earth, he beat cancer not once, but TWICE! His energy & presence touched the lives of countless humans as he was well known & adored in many social circles, even those who knew him from afar on Facebook loved him. Scotch spent his last days traveling to his favorite spots, watching the sunset, soaking up all the beauty in nature & eating ice cream.

He’ll be forever missed & always remembered, a love that will never be replaced. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for extra treats & snuggles to your pets in Scotch’s honor.

Buddy left us on February 6th to be reunited with his Momma Zoey. He was an absolute joy to have in our life every day. He was able to feel all of our human emotions and was always there at the right time to help you through it and bring your spirits back up. He had the best Elvis lip, loved to play ball for hours, loved watching tv, especially Yellowstone and of course The Dog Club Show! He absolutely loved going for walks and car rides any chance he got. He will truly be missed deeply. Until we meet again at The Rainbow Bridge.

Delilah, age 12 years old, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on February 6th, 2026. Cremation services accorded. Arrangements entrusted to Whispering Willow Pet Funeral & Cremation Services. She loved people, playing with the kids and chasing the ball around the yard. She also loved playing with her fur siblings and cuddling on the couch with anyone willing. Being outside and in the sun was her favorite thing to do. There's no way to sum up 12 years of life in just a few paragraphs. There is so much to say about Delilah and her bond with Zeus that she developed. We brought her home at 8 weeks old with her litter mate/partner in crime; Zeus. Watching them live life together melted my heart and every fiber in my body. Now they're reunited again and chasing each other endlessly at The Rainbow Bridge together. They used to sleep together like a couple of cats. They both loved being in the back yard and chasing the kids around or playing tug of war with them. Beanie (Delilah) loved laying in our laps eve at 50lb like she was a little puppy again. She would hang out in the yard on the beautiful days for hours on end, it was always a struggle getting her to come inside. If you had a ball, you instantly became her best friend, although she never was any good about bringing the ball back, but she'd definitely run around with it in her mouth. People are always quick to judge Pit Bulls, but Beanie was the most loyal and loving dog anyone could have ever hoped to own. She will truly be missed deeply at home and we will meet again at The Rainbow Bridge one day.

Myrrh, age 14 years old, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on January 30th, 2026. Cremation services accorded. Arrangements entrusted to Whispering Willow Pet Funeral & Cremation Services. Myrrh loved the massage gun and was a great mouser even though she was declawed in the front. She got pushed one time when she decided to play with Morgan and she was very sassy and only wanted attention and love on her terms, nobody else's. She will be deeply missed, and we will meet again at The Rainbow Bridge.
